AJW Aviation signs integrated consumables support contract with Italian MRO, Atitech

AJW Aviation has signed a three year agreement with Atitech, one of Europe"™s largest MROs based in Naples, Italy, for the provision of integrated consumables management services. This will utilise the new innovative barcode scanning App that AJW has developed and deliver support for Atitech"™s growing customer base across the Airbus and Boeing aircraft families.

Giovanni Lettieri, Chairman & CEO of Atitech, is keen to introduce the new technology that underpins AJW"™s solution to streamline the facility"™s requirements: "Our expanding maintenance facility requires a reliable consumables solution that will cope effectively with our high demands now and in the future. AJW solves our consumable supply issues by providing a simplified way to minimise inventory, reduce costs and enhance the operational efficiency of our MRO operation."

The MRO is EASA/FAA Part 145 certified and performs base maintenance for Alitalia Airline"™ entire narrow body fleet of A319, A320, A321 aircraft, and other major Italian airlines. In addition to several European customers, Atitech has recently been awarded major contracts for heavy maintenance in the Middle East and Russia. The 4,400 sq.ft facilities are located at Naple"™ International Airport and these comprise two hangars with eight bays – one of which is dedicated to aircraft stripping/painting – and warehousing. Atitech also offers an EASA Part 147 training school; and an EASA PART 21 DOA.

Nick Roberts, Consumables Manager for AJW Aviation, highlights why Atitech has awarded the contract to AJW: "The new automated barcode-scanning service has significantly enhanced our ability to provide airlines and MROs with the latest and most efficient solution. We are committed to reduce transaction and inventory costs through on-site consignment of regularly used consumables."

Andrew Smith, Group Operations Director for AJW, emphasises the significance of the new barcode-scanning App to improve the logistics and management of consumables: "We improve efficiency through timely replenishment on consumption and improve service levels via a designated single point-of-contact for all items. With AJW, there is no minimum order value or minimum quantity and we provide a single consolidated monthly invoice which minimises unnecessary paperwork. The application of simple intuitive technology improves the entire experience."
