More than 50 % of all Lufthansa Stations world wide open for paperless Import

Lufthansa Cargo has reached an important milestone at the opening of stations for eFreight import. Currently 175 stations of Lufthansa Cargo are able to receive shipments without any paper AWB. These stations cover more than 70 % of all shipments. The latest achievement was the opening of Bangalore (BLR) in India. With the opening of stations we enable more and more lanes for eFreight and reduce the paper volume of produced paper air waybills.

Step by step to paperless processes "“ eAWB

eFreight will be introduced gradually at Lufthansa Cargo. Since 2012 we are focusing on implementing the eAWB. With the implementation of the eAWB, the electronic message will become the legal basis for the transport contract "“ the first step towards a paperless future. At Lufthansa Cargo, we started making international airfreight paperless and are steadily progressing. As lead carrier in the German market and beyond, we are a major driver in the implementation of eFreight, with the goal of the complete digitization of the supply chain. To make the process as easy as possible for our customers a dedicated Lufthansa Cargo eAWB roll out team is about to introduce the eAWB single process "“ an IATA initiative – worldwide.
