Lufthansa Group now able to send groups off for travel with just one click

The Lufthansa Group airlines: Austrian, Lufthansa and SWISS, launched their very own integrated group booking tool that is exclusively available to tour operators, consolidators and travel agents. With just one online tool, groups of ten or more people can request any flight combination between the three network airlines and receive an immediate confirmation after booking. Furthermore, groups can consist of private individuals, business travelers or tourists.

Following the booking request, the “Book-a-Group” tool, which is available in 14 different languages, will deliver a price quote in real time. The commercial conditions for group journeys have been improved and standardized in one single contract valid for all Group hub airlines and all new bookings being processed in the “Book-a-Group” tool. One significant improvement is the introduction of a short term booking option. In the future, it will be possible to cancel bookings at no charge if the cancellation is done within 72 hours of the booking, and also within 60 days of the actual flight itself. The service will now be provided through one point of contact, instead of having different contact persons for each airline.

“With the new, integrated ‘Book-a-Group’ tool, we have been able to implement a further step in the harmonization of our products and services across all network airlines,” explained Tamur Goudarzi Pour, Vice President Sales, The Americas, Lufthansa Group Airlines, “The Lufthansa Group hub carriers Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS are represented by one integrated sales team, which can now offer group bookings with an easy tool out of one single source.”

Likewise, it will be possible to use the “Book-a-Group” tool to request different Lufthansa Group airline flight combinations (Brussels Airlines and Eurowings), as well as many other Lufthansa Partner Airlines. This will allow ticket intermediaries and travel agency staff to offer an even broader network of routes and improved availability to customers.
