The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) has named Luis Felipe de Oliveira, a former IATA official and currently an executive with World Fuel Services, its new executive director.
De Oliveira replaces Eduardo Iglesias, who announced in March he would be stepping down. De Oliveira will officially become ALTA’s executive director Oct. 1.
From 2006-2015, De Oliveira was with IATA, where he served in several positions related to commercial aviation fuel, including as IATA’s head of airport infrastructure and fuel from 2013-2015. For the past two years, he has been World Fuel Services VP-supply development for Latin America and the Caribbean.
“De Oliveira’s vast leadership and industry expertise, coupled with his strong background in association leadership and government and stakeholder relations, will be instrumental in guiding ALTA in the association’s efforts to work collaboratively with our members, governments, regulatory authorities and the communities we serve as we continue growing air transportation and the economic value and connectivity the industry provides in further developing the Latin America and Caribbean region,” LATAM Airlines Group CEO Enrique Cueto, the current president of ALTA’s executive committee, said…Fuente: http://atwonline.com/people/former-iata-official-de-oliveira-named-lead-alta
