Azul Airlines Begins Flying to Second Destination in Portugal

Azul Brazilian Airlines started flying to Porto, Portugal on Monday, June 3. This is the second destination for the airline in Portugal, which already operates flights between Brazil and Lisbon. Porto is the second-largest city in Portugal and experienced significant tourism increase in the last few years.

The flight between Campinas, 50 miles from São Paulo, and the Portuguese city will take place three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays utilizing the Airbus A330 aircraft.

Azul CEO and founder David Neeleman participated in the first flight ceremony highlighting the important moment in the company’s history. The company expects to increase the flight frequency after the consolidation of the route.

The flight is a good option connecting many cities in Brazil like Porto Alegre, Florianopolis, Curitiba and Belo Horizonte to important destinations in Europe like London, Amsterdam and Geneva. This is possible due to a strong connection with TAP Air Portugal, which will provide connecting flights in Porto, the same way that it is already doing in Lisbon…
