Cathay and Air NZ extend alliance for five more years

Cathay Pacific and Air New Zealand have received approval to extend their network joint venture for services between Hong Kong and New Zealand until the end of October 2024.

The alliance between the two carriers commenced in 2013, which saw Air NZ withdrawing its Hong Kong-London flights, but has also led to Cathay starting seasonal services to Christchurch.

Together, the two carriers operate up to four services per day between the two countries, while Air NZ places its code on several onward services from Hong Kong operated by Cathay…
