LATAM inaugurates its first flight to Lisbon

LATAM Airlines Group’s first flight to Lisbon touched down at Humberto Delgado Airport today (3 September). The arrival of LATAM Airlines Brazil flight JJ8178 marks the beginning of five weekly non-stop flights between São Paulo/Guarulhos and the Portuguese capital. The route will be operated by Boeing 767 aircraft, offering 191 seats in Economy and 30 in Premium Business.

Passengers throughout South America can connect conveniently with this new flight via LATAM’s São Paulo/Guarulhos hub.

Located on the Atlantic coast, Lisbon is the most western capital of Europe and Portugal’s largest metropolis. As one of the world’s oldest cities, dating back to 1200 BC, it is renowned for its historical and cultural riches, attracting tourists from across the globe.

LATAM Airlines Brazil flight JJ8178 departs São Paulo/Guarulhos on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, with a journey time of 10 hours. The return flight, JJ8179, takes off from Lisbon (Humberto Delgado Airport) on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, with a journey time of 10 hours, 45 minutes. Exact departure and arrival times depend on the day of travel.

With the addition of Lisbon, LATAM now serves eight cities in Europe including Madrid, Barcelona, Rome, Milan, Paris, Frankfurt and London.

LATAM’s international expansion

LATAM Airlines Group continues to strengthen its international connectivity and unrivalled network of destinations in Latin America. In 2017 alone, it inaugurated 13 new international routes. For 2018, the airline group has 18 new international flights planned, having already commenced services to Las Vegas, Rome and Boston. In December, LATAM will operate its first flight to Tel Aviv and the airline group has also announced it will serve Munich, with further details to be announced in the coming months.
