Southwest Airlines introduces new Texas-California route to start next spring

Southwest Airlines announced a new nonstop route and a resumption of a Dallas Love Field Airport flight will start next spring.

The Dallas-based carrier announced Thursday morning its bookable schedule has been extended through June 8, 2019. Regulations prevent airlines from tipping off the public about fee or route changes until tickets go on sale, so information about new routes is often not available until tickets are live.

Among the things to note in the extension of the booking window for Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE: LUV) is the resumption of daily service between Love Field and Pensacola, Florida starting April 8, 2019. Southwest is also introducing a new route between El Paso and San Jose, California to be flown once a week on Sundays starting April 14 next year.

Starting April 13, 2019 Southwest will resume its Saturday summer service between the following city pairs.

Orlando and Albuquerque
Orlando and Boston
Charleston, South Carolina and Denver
Cancun and New Orleans
Pensacola, Florida and Kansas City
