Sydney may not need a second airport: expert

Sydney may not need a second airport at Badgery’s Creek as aviation technology continues to develop, according to expert Geoffrey Thomas.

Speaking with Sky News, Mr Thomas said that cities around the world have seen a trend back to downtown city airports.

‘(We’re) going to start seeing a diminishing of Sydney’s role as the big hub in Australia with airplanes like the 787, A350 flying out of smaller capital cities or regional airports to destinations like Los Angeles.’
