Following a week of floods and catastrophic storms in Texas from Hurricane Harvey, the U.S. is bracing itself for another potential hurricane landfall; this time, Hurricane Irma has already strengthened to a Category 5 storm, the strongest type of hurricane, with winds in excess of 175 miles per hour. Current projections see the storm raging through vacation destinations on Tuesday including Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Anguilla, and on Wednesday in the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, according to CNN.
Models predict the storm will make landfall this weekend in Florida, with south Florida and the Florida Keys preparing for a Sunday landfall, but the hurricane’s exact path is hard to predict at this time, The Washington Post reports.

American Airlines: Passengers who purchased flights by September 3 for travel September 5"“8 to Anguilla Wallblake, Anguilla; Antigua, Antigua; Beef Island, British Virgin Islands; San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. Croix Island, U.S. Virgin Islands; St. Kitts, Saint Kitts and Nevis; St. Maarten, Saint Maarten; and St. Thomas Island, U.S. Virgin Islands can reschedule to fly on or before September 12 in the same cabin or pay the price difference with no change fee.
