Denver airport first to use new TSA full-body scanner

Transportation Security Administration at Denver International Airport is using a new technology that allows travelers to keep their hands at their side when screened at security checkpoints.

The Colorado Sun reports airport CEO Kim Day says the Denver airport is the first in the country to pilot the technology.

The new scanner uses the same basic process as the old ones. But TSA federal security director Larry Nau says what might seem like a nominal change — keeping your hands at your side as opposed to raising them in the air — can save a lot of time…
