KLM commences flights to Costa Rica

KLM, which last week launched flights to Mumbai and Mauritius, has now commenced a link from Amsterdam (AMS) to San Jose (SJO) in Costa Rica. Commenting on the launch, Boet Kreiken, EVP of KLM Customer Experience, said: "In recent years, Costa Rica has developed as a very attractive tourist destination for many Dutch and European tourists.

We are happy to start operations to Costa Rica and of course, we also welcome Costa Ricans to travel with KLM to Amsterdam or one of our many destinations in Europe." Launched 31 October, the 9,054-kilometre sector between Amsterdam and San Jose will be flown twice-weekly (Tuesdays and Fridays) on the SkyTeam member"™s 787-9s, with the route not facing any direct competition.

As a result of launching flights to Costa Rica, it now means that KLM serves three airports in Central America non-stop from Amsterdam according to OAG schedules…
