Aeromexico received the award for its leadership as the Most Punctual Airline in 2024 by Cirium

During a press conference held in its main hangar, Andres Conesa, CEO of Aeromexico, received from Jeremy Bowen, CEO of Cirium, the award that recognizes the company as the most punctual global airline in 2024, according to the On-Time Performance Review made by this consulting firm.

This recognition marks a milestone in the history of the company and the country, as it became the first and only airline in Mexico to have reached this position. In 2024, Aeromexico operated nearly 197 thousand flights, completing 99.32% of its scheduled operations, with 87.73% departing on time and 86.7% arriving as planned.

This achievement was even more challenging, considering it was a record-breaking year for Aeromexico: its fleet size exceeded 150 aircraft, it served over 120 routes, and it transported over 25.3 million passengers, the highest number in its history.

These results were possible due to the investments and improvements in different pillars, such as:

  • Talent: Working groups specialized in collaboration, result orientation, and promoting leadership development at all levels.
  • Procedures: Response protocols for contingencies and efficiency measures, implemented by specialized teams in fleet management, crew, and customer service.
  • Technology: Using the most advanced global systems and tools to optimize operations.
  • Fleet: The most ambitious fleet renewal, with the addition of more than 50 new aircraft in the last years, eight of which arrived in 2024. It ensures greater reliability and efficiency.
  • Coordination: Close collaboration with authorities, airports, and service providers.

Thus, in 2024, Aeromexico’s punctuality improved by 11% on its arrivals and 8% on its departures in comparison to the 2023 statistics.

Cirium, the world’s most trusted source for aviation analytics, providing data and insights to empower a wide range of industry stakeholders, expressed in the voice of its CEO, Jeremy Bowen: Cirium’s On-Time performance program is the longest standing such analysis in the industry going back 16 years. In addition, Andres Conesa, CEO of Aeromexico highlighted: “Becoming the first airline in Mexico to receive the outstanding award of the most punctual global airline fills us with pride.
