Major carriers like American Airlines and Southwest Airlines are urging the federal government to no longer require them to allow emotional support animals on board.
Airlines for America, an industry group that represents those carriers, this month told the U.S. Transportation Department that it should narrow the open-ended definition for «service animals» to only «trained dogs that perform a task or work for an individual with a disability.»
