The Dominican airline, Arajet, announced the signing of a strategic agreement with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for the implementation of “Turbulence Aware”, an innovative tool designed to improve real-time turbulence management.
Turbulence Aware allows airlines to collect and share accurate data on atmospheric conditions, facilitating the identification and rerouting of turbulence zones. This technology increases passenger safety and comfort while optimizing flight routes to improve operational efficiency and reduce fuel consumption.
Víctor Pacheco Méndez, CEO and founder of Arajet, stated: “This agreement with IATA represents another step in our commitment to offering a more comfortable, safe, and efficient flight experience for all our passengers. At the same time, we reaffirm our vision of sustainability by leveraging tools that allow us to operate in a more environmentally responsible manner”.
With this alliance, Arajet becomes one of the first airlines in the region to adopt this advanced technology, aligning itself with international best practices in operational safety and energy efficiency. The agreement was formalized during the ALTA Aviation Safety and Flight Ops Summit, held in Mexico City.
Arajet continues to consolidate its position as an innovative airline that raises the standards of air transport in the Caribbean and Latin America.
