• More flight connections to North America, a total of 30 flights per week

Austrian Airlines will significantly expand its North American & European route network in the upcoming winter flight schedule 2018/19. “Alongside the European flights, we are increasing our frequencies to North America as well,” explained Austrian Airlines CCO Andreas Otto. “As a result, we are strengthening Vienna as hub for our flights.” With 30 weekly frequencies to North America this winter, Austrian Airlines will be connecting Europe to the United States and Canada more than ever before.
More than 40 additional Austrian flights, each week, will be operated to 14 European destinations starting at the end of October 2018. This includes German cities such as Berlin, Dusseldorf and Hamburg, as well as other destinations such as Copenhagen, Kiev, Athens and Krakow. In addition to these route expansions, Austrian Airlines will begin service to the traditional holiday destination of Cape Town,” added Otto.
Increased frequencies to North America and Tel Aviv
Austrian Airlines is expanding its long-haul flight service to North America effective at the start of the winter flight schedule 2018/19. At of the end of October 2018, up to thirteen flights will be operated to New York each week, an increase of six weekly flights compared to the last winter flight schedule. Furthermore, the airline will operate daily flights to Chicago, adding two more weekly flight connections compared to the winter flight schedule 2017/18. One additional flight will be offered each week to Toronto, increasing the weekly total to five flights. In total, Austria’s national carrier will operate up to 30 flights to North American destinations in the upcoming winter flight schedule 2018/19.
In addition to raising the number of flights to North America, Austrian Airlines is also increasing frequencies to Tel Aviv. Passengers who want to travel between North America and Israel, via the flight hub of Vienna Airport, can choose from up to 21 weekly flight connections to Tel Aviv starting at the end of October 2018, more than double the number of Austrian Airlines flights compared to the last winter flight schedule.
More flights to Germany, Denmark, & Greece
Also beginning at the end of October 2018, Austrian Airlines will offer 238 weekly flight connections from Vienna to Germany. The air carrier will operate up to 48 weekly flights to Berlin-Tegel, 36 flights to Dusseldorf and 29 flights to Hamburg a total of 17 additional weekly flights to Germany compared to the winter 2017/18 schedule
Denmark’s capital city is also included in the expansion of frequencies in Europe. Austrian Airlines will fly up to 30 times per week to Copenhagen starting at the end of October 2018, an increase of four flights compared to the last winter flight schedule.
At of the end of October 2018, the number of weekly flights offered to Athens will be increased by four, from six to ten times each week, along with new daily flights to Thessaloniki.
Strengthening of Eastern European core market
Eastern Europe will remain an important market for Austrian Airlines. Kiev will be served up to 16 times per week in the upcoming winter flight schedule. In total, Austrian Airlines will offer up to 30 weekly flight connections to destinations throughout Ukraine as of the end of October 2018.
A total of up to 63 flights per week will be operated to Košice, Budapest, Belgrade and Sarajevo. Warsaw and Krakow in Poland will also be included in Austrian Airlines’ route expansions, with plans to operate 13 weekly flights to Krakow and 18 weekly flights to Warsaw.
Throughout the 2018/19 winter flight schedule, Austrian Airlines will fly a total of 41 times per week to three Romanian destinations: Bucharest, Iasi and Sibiu. Bulgaria will also continue to be an integral part of the Austrian Airlines flight schedule with two destinations. Up to 29 weekly flights will be operated to the capital city of Sofia, and daily flight service will be offered to the coastal town of Varna. As a result, Austrian Airlines aircraft will take off for these Bulgarian destinations up to 36 times each week starting this winter season.

On Austrian Airlines flights, customers can book flights in Business, Premium Economy and Economy Classes. Business Class passengers can recline into a full-flat bed with an innovative air cushion system that provides the greatest comfort possible. Premium Economy passengers can enjoy a seat width of as much as 48.3 cm and can convert their seat into a personal workspace with power sockets and USB ports. A three to four course meal is offered on board with a selection of three dishes for the main course. During the entire flight, Austrian wines, beer, coffee, and spirits will also be available in Premium Economy.
All Austrian Airlines’ Boeing 777 and Boeing 767 operate with a new cabin interior, thus also enhancing the Economy Class cabin. On board, passengers can use the unique relax position, which makes your flight most comfortable. Almost 500 hours of entertainment is offered on a nine inch screen at every seat in Economy. Furthermore, catering partners Do & Co offer passengers the option to choose between two menus to enjoy on the flight.
