Delta, Aeroméxico collaborate on inaugural job shadowing initiative to empower youth for future success

Delta Air Lines and Aeromexico joined forces to offer a transformative experience to eight high school students from Colegio de Bachilleres, Plantel 9 Aragón, through an exclusive Job Shadow Day at Mexico City International Airport.

This initiative not only provided students with invaluable firsthand experience, but also allowed them to gain insights from seasoned aviation professionals between the two partners. The event offered a unique behind-the-scenes look into the complex operations of Mexico City International Airport, fostering a deeper understanding and connection to the dynamic aviation industry.

Delta and Aeromexico volunteers guided students through a “day in the life,” featuring simulated real-world exercises and introducing them to various career opportunities in aviation. These efforts are pivotal in inspiring young minds to envision and pursue rewarding career paths.

Through their Joint Cooperation Agreement (JCA), Delta and Aeromexico collaborate effortlessly both in the air and on the ground, inspiring the next generation of talented individuals. Delta and Aeromexico reinforce a shared vision for a brighter, more interconnected future, where their combined efforts create positive and lasting global impacts.

«At Delta, we appreciate our partner Aeromexico for joining us to participate in this Job Shadow experience,” said María Aramburo-Aguilar, Airport Station Manager. “We are always eager to engage with the communities where we operate, and we are thrilled to connect with young people who will become the future professionals of the industry. As leading airlines, we want students to understand that career development opportunities in this sector are international, enhancing the appeal of pursuing a career in aviation.»

Junior Achievement provides young people in Mexico City with the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic decisions. JA’s programs are delivered by volunteers and business and community educators, and offer relevant, hands-on experiences that provide 40,000 students, preschool through high school, with knowledge and skills in financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship.

This program aims to open their eyes to potential future careers,” said the executive.
