IATA strengthens young talent FACE programme

IATA plans to strengthen its Future Air Cargo Executives (FACE) programme with a new development aimed at increasing engagement amongst young people.

The FACE leadership team at IATA said that the development would be unveiled at the 2025 World Cargo Symposium (WCS) in Dubai.

IATA said: “In 2025, FACES plans to continue its initiatives, including the annual FACE Summit and various webinars. These activities aim to provide young professionals with opportunities to interact with industry leaders, exchange views on emerging trends, and build a strong professional network.

“In addition, IATA FACES will launch a new activity at the WCS in Dubai with the aim to increase ownership and commitment towards the initiatives among the FACE participants.”

Launched in 2013, the FACE programme is part of IATA’s efforts to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion and has evolved to focus on attracting, retaining, and developing young talent under 36 to develop the next generation of air cargo leaders.

The programme is designed to facilitate innovation and creativity in participants to modernise the air cargo industry. Key initiatives include webinars, the FACE Summit and the biennial FACE UP! competition, which sees global graduates pitch solutions to air cargo supply chain challenges and will next take place in 2026.

The next Face Summit will take place on Monday 14 April at the WCS. The Summit will include a keynote on career pathway exploration; sessions on the impact of industry trends on future skills and workforce diversity; a panel discussion on how young employees contribute to talent management; and a workshop on personal branding.
