Spanish LCC Iberia Express will take delivery of four Airbus A320neos in 2020, with the first scheduled for delivery in April.
Iberia Express, which launched in 2012, currently operates a fleet of 22 A320 and A321ceos to 40 short- and medium-haul destinations, acting as a feeder for parent carrier Iberia’s long-haul network.
In a statement released May 13, Iberia Express CEO Fernando Candela said the airline hopes to receive its first A320neo in April 2020, followed by the other three during the course of 2020.
He added that the new aircraft variant will “bring significant advantages,” in terms of fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and passenger comfort.
