Iberia is once again joining World Breast Cancer Day, which is being celebrated tomorrow, with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of prevention and early detection of this disease.
Various actions have been designed for this purpose, both in flights and on the ground, which will feature the colour pink, a symbol of the fight against breast cancer.
The seats on 42 short- and medium-haul flights will be decorated with pink headrests, specifically for this event, with the message “The most important journey is your life.”
Also, in the Business Class section on long-haul flights between 18 and 22 October, the iconic Meninas-shaped salt and pepper shakers that are delivered with the lunch trays will also be customised in pink and white, and will be accompanied by the slogan “Together, united on this journey.”
Solidarity Water Bottles
As part of the “Gotas de Solidaridad” (Drops of Solidarity) programme promoted by Solán de Cabras, the airline will hand out pink bottles of mineral water after the departure of several short and medium-haul flights to remind people of the importance of research and early detection of this disease.
In addition, for every bottle of water sold on flights from 19 to 31 October in the Gastrobar service, Iberia, together with DO&CO and Imfly, will donate €1 to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC).
Customised VIP Lounges
This action is not only carried out on board Iberia planes, but also on the ground, specifically in its two Premium Lounges in Terminal 4 of Madrid airport, Dalí and Velázquez. Here too, the complimentary bottles available to Iberia customers will be pink and customers will be offered special cupcakes decorated with a pink ribbon.
Iberia Express Also Joins the Pink Campaign
Iberia Express is also joining this solidarity initiative, which will dress one of its planes with pink headrests on its first scheduled flight to Tenerife.
For each passenger who buys a ticket tomorrow, the airline will donate €1 to the AECC in favor of breast cancer research. And on board, Iberia Express and its partners IMMFLY and DO&CO will donate €1 for every bottle of water sold between October 19 and 31.
In addition, onboard entertainment system Club Express Onboard, customers will find a section with informative content about this disease, provided by the AECC until the end of the year.
