The 45th edition of the International Tourism Fair begins this Wednesday, 24 January, and, like every year, Iberia has a large stand, located as always in Pavilion 10, featuring 600sqm built with sustainable materials.
The concept for this year’s fair is connectivity, and especially, the bridge between Europe and America, a market where the airline is a leader – Iberia flies direct, non-stop, to 18 destinations in 16 Latin American countries.
The structure of the stand itself represents that union between Europe and Latin America. A curved wall like a bridge crosses the display and, in each of its spaces, there are messages about Iberia’s mission and news, exploring, for example, the social impact that aviation provides, and, specifically, the airline’s operation in Latin American countries. For example, the route with Argentina generates 12,500 jobs and contributes nearly €200 million to both countries, while the operation with Mexico creates 11,500 jobs and contributes €215 million.
The airline’s new destinations, both the recently launched Doha and Rovaniemi routes, as well as those that will begin in 2024 – Tokyo, Tirana, and Ljubljana – will also be protagonists at the stand.
Novelties in the Onboard Experience
Visitors to Fitur will be able to try the seats in a space that recreates the airplane cabin, enjoy an aperitif that showcases part of the cuisine on offer on board the flights and enjoy first-hand the latest in-flight entertainment.
Iberia will also present at Fitur the toiletry bag designed by Teresa Helbig that the airline will offer its Business and Premium Economy customers from next summer, inspired by its airline uniforms.
These toiletry bags incorporate new natural and vegan cosmetics made in Spain, made from surplus wine served on board, with packaging made from sugar cane with I’m Green TM certification. They are produced by Kaelis by recycling 7.5 million plastic bottles (550 ml), saving 1.2 million litres of water in their production and reducing energy emissions by 70%. For its part, Envera, a company that employs people with functional diversity, employing 400 people, is in charge of packaging.
Be a Pilot for One Day
This year the stand will once again feature a flight simulator in which anyone who wishes to can virtually take control of an airplane for a few minutes. With the help of an instructor, visitors will have the opportunity to experience the sensation of taking off, navigating, and landing an aircraft.
The Store is Back
Once again, the stand will feature a store where visitors can purchase the airline’s most iconic merchandising products, such as phone lanyards, socks, model airplanes, pens, keychains, and much more.
The stand will also include several meeting rooms and a cafeteria, provided by Mahou, Solán de Cabras and Do & Co, Iberia’s official on-board catering provider.
