The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) announced that its group of member airlines continues to expand and strengthen with the arrival of the Lufthansa Group: an aviation group with operations throughout the world and strong relations with Latin America and the Caribbean.
Companies from the Lufthansa Group are long-standing members of ALTA: Lufthansa Systems is an active member since 2004 and Lufthansa Technik since 2013. Now, the airline segment, integrated by Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings, joined.
Luis Felipe de Oliveira, ALTA’s Executive Director, comments: «We are very pleased to welcome Lufthansa once again. This time to the airlines group. Lufthansa is the largest airline in Europe and a very important transport company for the Latin American market. The trust placed by Lufthansa in ALTA is product of the work we are doing to make the association more relevant and generate greater benefits to our members, while boosting the economic benefit for the populations we serve. The arrival of Lufthansa Group to ALTA will allow us to jointly work on projects to increase connectivity with the rest of the world and contribute to the economic and social development of the region».

Lufthansa joins the group of 11 ALTA member airlines with origins outside Latin America and the Caribbean that have operations in the region.
