More Dreamliners ordered by Air Europa

Spanish carrier Air Europa has raised an order for Boeing 787 Dreamliners to 27 aircraft by 2022.

An original order for 22 of the long-haul twinjets worth $3.5 billion was placed in 2015.

Five additional aircraft have now been added as part of a fleet revamp by the Latin America specialist airline.

Eight 787-8 aircraft were delivered in a first phase, with the first two larger 787-9s delivered in February.

A further five are now due to enter service between April and December 2019, plus 12 aircraft introduced progressively between 2020 and 2022.

Air Europa introduced its first 787-8 in 2016 and, since then has carried more than 2.5 million passengers in its Dreamliner fleet.

The airline currently operates Dreamliners to Miami, Bogota, Santo Domingo, Lima, Tel Aviv, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires.
