Michael Conner, the new director of aviation for Rick Husband International Airport, presented an update on the airport"™s master plan during his first Airport Advisory Board of the City of Amarillo earlier this week.
Drafts of the master plan have been reviewed by airport staff, Conner said Monday, and they are currently reviewing the Airport Layout Plan which will then need FAA approval.
"Once the consultant has the whole package together, we"™ll submit that to the FAA," he said. "That"™s super important because we"™ll use that going forward for any additional AIP (Airport Improvement) projects we"™ll be doing at the airport in the coming years."
According to Tyler Hurst, deputy director of aviation, the airport"™s 20-year master plan includes: inventory of existing facilities and services, aviation activity demand forecasts with analyses, facility requirements, facility improvements, phased Capital Improvement Program and the Airport Layout Plan…
