Orlando"™s airport will fine a manufacturer and seek compensation for fliers hit with extra costs because of repeated failures of a new shuttle, airport director Phil Brown said after a shuttle failed again Monday.
The builder has "brought resources in from all over the world, and we want them to bring in more resources," said Brown, who added that he is not confident shuttle problems have been solved.
Part of a $90 million replacement of shuttles at Orlando International Airport, a newly installed shuttle has been crippled three times in the past week.
The first incident Wednesday lasted for several hours and affected nearly 14,000 passengers. A failure occurred again Sunday, which was followed by another Monday morning, with both lasting less than an hour.
