Pactl becomes the first terminal to utilise IATA’s Dangerous Goods Autocheck

Shanghai Pudong International Airport Cargo Terminal Co Ltd (Pactl) has become the first air cargo facility to introduce IATA’s Dangerous Goods (DG) AutoCheck

DG AutoCheck allows the air cargo supply chain to check the compliance of shippers’ Declaration for Dangerous Goods against IATA’s Dangerous Goods Regulations.

«The introduction of DG AutoCheck is expected to further improve Pactl’s DG acceptance accuracy and reduce checking process time.

«As one of the busiest air cargo terminals in the world, Pactl advocates air transport security as paramount criterion in daily operation.»

The terminal said that using deploying autocheck, which can be used on tablets and PCs, would allow it to be more efficient and accurate when processing dangerous goods declarations (DGD) from shippers.

«The DG AutoCheck supports functions of DGD online upload, checking the compliance of Shipper’s DGD, consignment package against latest IATA DGR,» Pactl added.

«It is believed that IATA’s new technology will help to improve PACTL’s service quality for DG operation and ensure air transport security effectively.»

The autocheck was launched by IATA at the World Cargo Symposium in March.

The tool enables electronic consignment data to be received directly, supporting the digitisation of the cargo supply chain, IATA said. Optical character recognition technology also transforms a paper DGD into electronic data. This data is then processed and verified automatically using the XML data version of the DGR…
