SAASA is the first in Peru to receive CEIV Pharma Certification – IATA, a seal of excellence that guarantees the traceability, handling and storage of pharmaceutical products.
After a rigorous process of staff training, auditing and certification, Servicios Aeroportuarios Andinos S.A. (SAASA) obtained the CEIV Pharma Certification of Excellence in the Handling of Pharmaceutical Products granted by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). With this certification SAASA becomes the first Peruvian operator to be CEIV Pharma Certified, which guarantees the traceability, handling and storage of pharmaceutical products.
“The import of pharmaceutical products, especially vaccines against Covid-19, require a special handling. SAASA as a key part of the supply chain, now becomes the first reliable airport services partner in Peru that receives this important and essential certificate”, said Enrique Vargas, General Manager of SAASA.
“To achieve this seal of excellence, SAASA made an exceptional effort to update and perfect our procedures, developing key and specific processes to serve the pharmaceutical and cold chain, training our teams and sending communications about our progress to customers and suppliers, with the permanent advice of the IATA’s team”, commented SAASA’s representative.
