SAASA, Servicios Aeroportuarios Andinos S.A, became this year the first cargo handling facility in the Americas and the fifth in the world to complete the triple recognition of the Center of Excellence for Independent Validators (CEIV): CEIV Pharma, CEIV Fresh and CEIV Live Animals of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
For this reason, Enrique Vargas, CEO of SAASA, was invited to participate as a panelist in a workshop focused on improving performance in key market segments using CEIVs programs in the framework of the 15th edition of the IATA World Cargo Symposium (WCS), which took place in September in London. On this occasion, the executive spoke about the process the company has undergone to become certified with these seals of excellence, which seek to ensure traceability, handling and storage of specific products, according to the highest international standards that are handled in these industries.
«SAASA managed to obtain, thanks to its effort and perseverance, the triple CEIV certification, a guarantee of excellence in the handling of pharmaceutical, perishable and live animal products. With this we demonstrate our commitment to continue being a unique and different proposal, with the objective of covering and adapting to the logistical needs of the airline industry, ensuring effective, agile and 100% safe operations,» said Enrique Vargas.
This year, SAASA began its process of internationalization of airport services in Latin America, by acquiring Servicios Aeroportuarios Andinos Global 100% of the shares of the airport services company Globalia Handling of Mexico, becoming SAASA Mexico.
SAASA, a Peruvian company that is part of Andino group, provides airport services in Peru and Mexico and is an integral part of the supply chain of different sectors through the services it offers (ramp, cargo storage, passenger service, FBO, among others).
