TAP Air Portugal Grows Network In ‘Strategic’ Brazil Market

TAP Air Portugal is expanding its offering to Brazil with plans to open flights to Manaus-Eduardo Gomes International Airport (MAO), a destination it has not served in eight years.

TAP served Manaus, the capital of the Brazilian state of Amazonia, from Lisbon Airport (LIS), in Portugal, from 2014 to 2016. From Nov. 4, the carrier will restart the LIS-MAO route, operating the service with a stop in Belem, Brazil—already part of TAP’s network—as part of the itinerary.

The one-stop, same-aircraft service will be flown 3X-weekly with an Airbus A321neo aircraft.

MAO will be the 13th airport in Brazil served by TAP, with 11 connected only to LIS. São Paulo/Guarulho and Rio de Janeiro/Galeão airports are both served from LIS and Porto…
