TAP Air Portugal was voted Best European Airline flying to South America and Africa at the 30th edition of the World Travel Awards (WTA). Considered the Oscars of world tourism, the WTA were awarded at a gala held this Friday, 29 October, in Batumi, Georgia.
The winners of the World Travel Awards were chosen through an online voting process, mostly by tourism and travel professionals, namely travel agents, operators and tourism organisations from various countries, as well as the general public.
The World Travel Awards aim to honour the best in world tourism in dozens of categories and in various parts of the world.
The trophies awarded in this edition are in addition to the prizes won in previous editions. TAP has already been voted by the World Travel Awards as the European Airline flying to Africa in 2011, 2012, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022, as well as the Best Airline flying to South America in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.
TAP currently flies to more than 90 destinations, with more than 1,250 flights a week. It offers 80 flights a week to Brazil and, in 2024, it will increase frequencies with a total of 91 flights a week to 11 Brazilian capitals. An average of 13 a day, reaffirming TAP as the most important international airline linking Brazil to Europe.
In South America, it also has flights to Venezuela.
