The 71st IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM) and World Air Transport Summit will be held in Miami, Florida from 7 to 9 June 2015.
The global airline community is celebrating a special anniversary this year: it was 70 years ago that 57 airlines from 31 countries joined together to create IATA at a meeting in Havana, Cuba, just a few hundred miles away from the site of this year"™s AGM.
IATA"™s anniversary year is shaping up to be a relatively good one for aviation. Lower fuel prices and healthy demand for air connectivity are driving expectations for an industry net profit of about $25 billion. At the same time, there are significant risk factors in the macro-economic and geopolitical environment.
The IATA AGM and World Air Transport Summit program highlights will include:
"¢ The IATA Director General"™s State of the Industry address
"¢ Updated industry financial forecast
"¢ CEO Insight Panel
"¢ Panel discussions on key issues in the region and globally
"¢ Media briefings
