ALTA participated in the opening of the new Satair Group facility in Miami on April 19, 2016. The new facility will host Airbus proprietary parts commonly used by the region"™s customers. In addition, it will accommodate a dedicated repairs area, a HAZMAT (hazardous material) center of excellence, and it will feature modernized production of aerospace hose products.
ALTA"™s Executive Director Eduardo Iglesias provided the following comments during the event:
"We are making significant contributions to the economies of the region serving as a catalyst of immeasurable economic and social expansion wherever we fly. And as we continue to transport more passengers our aircraft fleet will also grow accordingly. By 2030 we are forecasting to surpass 3,000 aircraft versus the current 1100. This will require increased support, logistics, and innovation from partners like Satair Group while also keeping a watchful eye on parts prices and costs for the industry. As we look forward to our future growth, we remain steadfast in our ongoing commitment to facilitating a safe, cost efficient, and the environmentally friendly air transport industry that ultimately reaches well beyond aviation.
