Latin American aviation revival? Airline chiefs to gather in Cartagena for vital CAPA Summit

Home to some 382 airlines, Latin America is a dynamic aviation region. Its airlines have 2,350 aircraft currently in service (the fourth largest region globally by fleet) and some 845 aircraft are currently on order by Latin America"™s airlines, including 716 narrowbodies. Does the region have the airport infrastructure to cope? There are currently 736 airports handling scheduled services across Latin America, and some USD23.2 billion in new airport projects have been announced across the region, according to CAPA.

The inaugural CAPA Latin America Aviation Summit will be held at the Hilton Cartagena on 11-12 September 2017. The Summit will bring together high level executives of airlines, airports, suppliers in aviation as well as travel, tourism, government organisations and infrastructure companies from across Latin America and beyond to address the key strategic and commercial issues affecting aviation development in the continent.

High level speakers already confirmed include William Franke, Co-founder and Managing Partner of Indigo Partners, Hernan Rincon, CEO of Avianca, Eduardo Lombana, CEO of Copa Colombia, Luis Gallego, CEO of Iberia and Fernando Poitevin, CEO of LATAM Colombia. In addition the summit will hear from a number of airlines serving the region including Azul, British Airways, interCaribbean, Hainan Airlines, Interjet, JetSmart, LATAM, Qantas, SKY, Southwest Airlines and VivaColombia, with many more speakers from industry suppliers and airports.
