In 2026, Condor celebrates its 70th anniversary and launches a special promotional campaign to mark the occasion. The offer invites travelers to celebrate the anniversary together with Condor and discover attractive destinations across the Condor network.
“For 70 years, Condor has brought travelers to their favorite places around the globe and connected continents, cultures, and people. Millions of travelers have made this story possible and have accompanied Condor over the decades,” said Peter Gerber, CEO of Condor. “Our 70th anniversary is therefore above all an opportunity to celebrate together with our guests and to say thank you.”
Condor’s story began in 1956 with the launch of its tourist flight operations: On March 29, 1956, the first flight departed aboard a Vickers Viking on a round trip to the ‘Holy Land’ and Egypt. Already in its first year of operations, Mallorca and the Canary Island of Tenerife were included in the flight schedule, places that remain among the airline’s most popular vacation destinations to this day.
Today, as a network airline, Condor not only brings travelers to some of the most beautiful vacation destinations in Europe and around the world, but also connects European metropolises with long-haul destinations and dream destinations in Africa, Asia, and North America. With a uniform Airbus fleet as well as a fully renewed long-haul fleet with a modern and comfortable Business Class cabin, Condor continues to develop into a modern, international airline.
