Aeromexico, an affiliate of Delta Air Lines, is launching new daily nonstop service between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Mexico City, beginning Nov. 1.
Mexico’s largest airline will also offer a second new daily flight between Portland, Oregon, and the Mexican capital, Aeromexico and Delta announced.
The carriers announced the new flights as part of a series of new services and plans for capacity expansion during the rest of the 2017 year.
John Caldwell, the Seattle vice president of Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL), said the new flights represent the next step in the evolving partnership between the two airlines, not unlike the partnership between Dutch airline KLM and Air France.
«Seattle is beneficiary … of us operating together,» Caldwell said. «There’s a huge opportunity for passengers not only to fly into Mexico City, the Aeromexico hub, but also beyond, to other Mexican cities, and to destinations in Latin America.»
Aeromexico will offer the daily flights to Sea-Tac Airport using a 160-seat Boeing 737-800 airplane. It will feature three classes of cabin seating.
