Alaska Airlines adding service to Belize

Alaska Airlines will make Belize the fourth foreign country it flies to, joining Canada, Mexico and Costa Rica.

The carrier said Wednesday that it will put tickets on sale in early June for Belize City, hinting that service will be offered from more than one of its West Coast hubs of Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles. However, Alaska has not provided specific route information.

«Our guests are eager for more ecofriendly leisure destinations, especially as they get vaccinated, and we’re ready to offer them terrific options,» Brett Catlin, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of network and alliances, said in a prepared remark.

Alaska adding new jets

Also on Wednesday, Alaska announced that it will add 17 Embraer E175 regional jets to its fleet in 2022 and 2023, a move it said will be necessary to meet demand. Alaska projected domestic flight demand will reach pre-Covid levels by summer 2022…
