Avianca Cargo starts freighter operations between Bogotá and Caracas

Avianca Cargo announced the launch of its freighter operation between Bogotá and Caracas on Saturday, March 7, further reinforcing its commitment to connectivity and the development of trade between Colombia and Venezuela.

The route was operated with an Airbus A330 Freighter, offering a payload capacity of 60 tons per flight. This service is complemented by Avianca’s passenger operation on the route using narrow-body aircraft, which provides an additional weekly cargo capacity of 7 tons.

The launch of this operation strengthens Avianca Cargo’s value proposition in the region by expanding its operational capacity and offering more efficient and reliable logistics solutions for importers. It also helps drive trade flows between both markets.

“With this new freighter operation between Colombia and Venezuela, Avianca Cargo is strengthening logistics flows between the two countries and expanding air cargo transport options across the region. The first direct operation between Bogotá and Caracas will operate with a weekly frequency, with plans to gradually increase capacity in line with market demand,” said Diogo Elías, CEO of Avianca Cargo.

Avianca Cargo continues to expand its network and strengthen its capacity to connect strategic markets while supporting the growth of trade between Colombia and Venezuela.

In addition, alongside the relaunch of cargo operations, Avianca has also announced the opening of sales for a second daily passenger frequency on the Bogotá–Caracas route, expanding travel options and further enhancing bilateral connectivity between the two countries.
