Christoph Mueller resigns from Emirates

Emirates Airline chief digital and transformation officer Christoph Mueller has resigned from the airline and plans to return to Europe, the group said Feb. 7.

The Dubai-based company sent an internal memo to senior management announcing his decision. “Since Christoph joined us in September 2016, he has been a valuable member of our team and contributed his vast experience to our success,” Tim Clark and Gary Chapman, presidents of Emirates Airline and of Group Services and Dnata wrote in the memo. Emirates will “work with Christoph in the coming months on a smooth transition of his portfolio.”

The 57-year-old Mueller has held numerous senior executive positions in the airline industry. Among others he was CEO of Aer Lingus from 2009 until 2015 and joined Malaysia Airlines as CEO…
