Delta earns employee, operational honors from Forbes, Newsweek, LinkedIn and more

After ending 2022 with an impressive slate of honors for outstanding customer service, a people-first culture, operational efficiency and state-of-the-art airport improvements, Delta is being highly recognized for both its investment in employees and its commitment to customers.

AN INCLUSIVE, EQUITABLE WORKPLACE EMPOWERING TOP TALENT
“At Delta, we believe that when we invest in our people and foster a great workplace, our people will deliver the best experiences for our customers,” said Joanne Smith, E.V.P and chief people officer at Delta. «These awards are a reflection of that virtuous circle in action.»

LinkedIn honored Delta in its annual recognition of top companies for career growth, highlighting “companies that set employees up for long-term career success,” taking into account how employees advance both within a company and when they leave, as well as how they gain new skills while employed there. Delta’s unique skills-first approach to hiring and career growth increases access to opportunities through apprenticeship, analytics and learning and development programs available to all employees.

Forbes named Delta one of its Best Employers for Diversity, taking internal and external recommendations and enacting extensive research to determine how companies fared across a range of diversity-related best-practices, including the presence of resource groups within the company, the publication of diversity data, and the share of women in board and executive positions.

And, Newsweek identified Delta as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for LGBTQ+ in a “true reflection of the airline’s commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment.” In addition to community engagement and long-running support of LGBTQ+ organizations like the National Gay Pilots Association, Delta also looks inward to increase resources and address health disparities for LGBTQ+ employees and families. Delta also works closely with members of its EQUAL Business Resource Group, a voluntary organization representing Delta’s LGBTQ+ employees and their allies, to foster a working community where employees can feel comfortable being their authentic selves at work.

In addition to its focus on equitable and enriching career development and fostering an inclusive workplace, this year, Delta launched its largest-ever investments in the total wellness of its people — including an emergency savings program —and expanded benefits for family building, leave and care.

CONTINUED LEGACY OF OPERATIONAL AND CUSTOMER SERVICE EXCELLENCE
WalletHub recently announced that Delta topped the charts as its Best Airline for 2023. The airline’s overall score was bolstered by strong reliability results — with WalletHub noting Delta has the lowest rate of cancellations, mishandled luggage and denied boardings. The outlet also made sure to highlight Delta’s unblemished pet-safety record in 2022.

And, Delta’s multi-billion-dollar terminal transformations from coast-to-coast continue to earn rave reviews. The Condé Nast Traveler’s 2023 Hot List included Delta’s stunning new Terminal C at New York-LaGuardia and the airline’s state-of-the-art Terminal 3 at Los Angeles International in its “ultimate guide to planning your perfect trip.”

Delta continues to be proud of its distinction as America’s most-awarded airline with additional recent recognition for CEO leadership from Chief Executive Magazine, company innovation from Fast Company, and as a best place to work by Glassdoor.
