Guanacaste Airport, a member of the VINCI Airports network, reported a record 793.075 passengers during the first quarter of 2026, representing a 12% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
According to immigration statistics, 773.973 passengers traveled on international flights, while 19.100 used domestic services, reflecting year-over-year growth of 12% and 25%, respectively. These results highlight strong demand for tourism and enhanced air connectivity in the region.
American Airlines, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, WestJet, and JetBlue ranked among the top carriers operating at Guanacaste Airport. While Toronto (YYZ), Atlanta (ATL), Houston (IAH), Miami (MIA), and Los Angeles (LAX) are the leading markets of origin for travelers coming to Guanacaste.
In March, the average flight load factor reached 88%, the highest level recorded in the past 18 months, underscoring sustained demand for Guanacaste as a preferred destination.
The first quarter of 2026 also marked several operational milestones. March registered the highest monthly passenger volume ever, with 297.850 passengers and 918 international flights. Additionally, March 21 set a new daily record, with 14.967 passengers served across 60 commercial flights.
The Canadian market continued to deliver standout performance, recording 27% growth compared to the same period in 2025. Canada now represents 26% of total tourist traffic at Guanacaste Airport, reaffirming its importance as a key source market.
