Qantas has revealed further significant moves in its senior leadership ranks, including the appointment of a new head of its international unit.
Current CFO Tino La Spina will take over as CEO of Qantas International, following the recent resignation of the previous international CEO Alison Webster. This role has been filled by Narendra Kumar on an acting basis since Webster’s departure on April 24.
La Spina will move into his new role on Oct. 1, allowing him to “close out the current fiscal year through to annual reporting” as CFO, Qantas said.
La Spina worked for Ansett Australia from 1996-2001, then the National Express Group, before joining Qantas in 2006. He held various senior roles before being appointed CFO in 2014.
In another move, Qantas chief customer officer Vanessa Hudson will replace La Spina as CFO. She will have the title of CFO-designate from mid-May, and “will work closely with [La Spina] to ensure a smooth handover,” Qantas said. Hudson has worked for Qantas for 24 years…
