SAASA was recognized in the WCS and will be the first operator in the world with all IATA CEIV certifications

During the largest and most prestigious annual event, the World Cargo Symposium (WCS) of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which took place in London, Servicios Aeroportuarios Andinos S.A. (SAASA) ratified its commitment to become the first air cargo warehouse in the world to have all five IATA certifications.

Through the signing of an agreement with IATA, Enrique Vargas, General Director of SAASA and Carlos Vargas, CEO of Andino Investment Holding S.A., kicked off the process that will allow the company to obtain the CEIV- Lithium Batteries (CEIV Li-batt) and Smart Facility Operational Capacity (SFOC) certification. These two new seals of excellence will be added to the three that SAASA currently has for the handling of Live Animals, Perishable Products and Pharmaceuticals, with the objective of continuing to cover and adapt to the logistical needs of the airline industry, guaranteeing effective, agile and 100% safe operations, in accordance with international standards.

«CEIV Li-batt, will accredit our processes against challenges in lithium battery handling and SFOC certification, will identify areas of improvement to accredit us with industry best practices, which will elevate our cargo handling capabilities to a higher standard. Our pillars of continuous improvement, operational excellence and customer focus are our main drivers to continue adding value to our customers and stakeholders, making us the best strategic partner for airport services internationally,» said Enrique Vargas.

SAASA, a Peruvian company part of the Andean group, which provides airport services in Peru and Mexico and is an integral part of the supply chain of different sectors through the services it offers (ramp, cargo storage, passenger service, FBO, among others), had become this year the first warehouse in the region and the fifth in the world, to complete the triple CEIV accreditation of IATA. For this reason, SAASA received recognition from IATA during the event.
