TAP Air Portugal transports 1 million passengers on North Atlantic routes

TAP Air Portugal transported more than 1 million passengers on its routes to the United States and Canada in 2023. The milestone, achieved on September 24, represents a 23% increase in comparison to the same time period in 2022.

TAP’s first flight to North America happened 54 years ago in 1969, to JFK International Airport in New York.

Currently, TAP’s network includes flights toLisbon and Porto from seven American cities – New York, Newark, Boston, Washington D.C., Chicago, San Francisco, Miami. In Canada, TAP flies from the cities of Toronto and Montreal.

In 2024, TAP will offer its most extensive operational network to date to and from their North American gateways, with 91 weekly flights.

The cities of Toronto and San Francisco will see an increase in weekly frequencies, going from 10 to 13 and from five to six, respectively.

In July, TAP surpassed the 1 million passenger milestone on its Brazilian routes, representing a 30% growth year over year.

Beginning next month, TAP will increase flight frequencies to its 11 Brazilian destinations to 81 weekly flights. In 2024, weekly frequencies to Brazil will again increase, to 91.
