TAP Air Portugal is set to resume its flights to Venezuela on 13 July, following the suspension of operations caused by the recent earthquakes that affected the country.
At this stage, flights will operate to Arturo Michelena International Airport in Valencia, allowing for the gradual restoration of air services between Portugal and Venezuela while the necessary work is carried out to resume normal operations.
On the first flight following the resumption of operations, TAP will also carry approximately 8.7 tonnes of medical supplies to support humanitarian relief efforts for affected communities. This shipment is being transported in coordination with the Portuguese Government and the Ministry of Health, while the Portuguese humanitarian aid operation is being coordinated by the Instituto Camões.
TAP has joined this collective effort by providing transport capacity to deliver this essential equipment, thereby contributing to the ongoing emergency response.
For operational reasons, flights to Valencia will make a technical stopover in Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, where the crews will remain. There are no plans for aircraft or crews to remain in Venezuela.
The airline continues to closely monitor developments and remains committed to resuming its regular operations to Venezuela as soon as possible and under the highest safety standards.
