Iran, IATA to Boost Cooperation in Air Transport Industry

A high-ranking delegation from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) held talks with top officials of the Iranian aviation companies and airlines in a bid to boost cooperation between the two sides in diverse areas of air transport industry.

In their three-day visit to the Islamic Republic, the IATA delegation met with the managers and officials of a number of Iranian airlines and organizations like Iran Airports Company (IAC), and Civil Aviation Organization (CAO).

The IATA officials also held training workshops on a host of issues, including passenger rights and the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) program.

The IOSA program is an evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline.

Back in April, Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi announced preparations for major investment in Iran’s civil aviation industry as soon as the anti-Iran sanctions are lifted under a comprehensive nuclear deal.

According to the minister, Tehran has launched extensive talks with foreign companies to refurnish its air fleet and develop its airlines.
