Delta adds 35K seats to largest-ever Latin American and Caribbean winter schedule

Building on its largest-ever service to the Latin region this winter, Delta is enhancing flight frequencies from six of its U.S. hubs. This growth translates to a 30% increase in available seats compared to last year’s winter season, with added frequencies to nine destinations in the region including Guatemala and Liberia, Costa Rica, in Central America, as well as San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Beyond that, it also creates a crucial gateway to the U.S. for customers, providing them with seamless onward connections to as many as 100 U.S. cities through Delta’s largest hub in Atlanta.

With this added service, Delta will boost Saturday frequencies to the following cities:

From Atlanta:

  • Three times to St. Thomas
  • Twice to St. Maarten
  • Twice to Guatemala
  • Three times to San José
  • Three times to Liberia
  • Six times to San Juan

From New York-JFK:

  • Three times to Cancun

From Detroit:

  • Twice to Punta Cana
  • Twice to Montego Bay
  • Twice to San Juan

From Minneapolis:

  • Twice to Punta Cana
  • Twice to Montego Bay
  • Twice to San Juan
  • Added Liberia service (currently four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday)

From Boston:

  • Twice to San Juan

Delta will begin flying these added Saturday routes seasonally starting Jan. 13. All of these routes will operate on varying aircraft including the Boeing 757-200, 737-900 and 737-800, all featuring First Class, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin.

In addition to more Saturday frequencies, Delta is also adding an extra trip from Seattle to Cancun that will depart on Fridays and return on Saturdays. This route will begin operating seasonally starting Dec. 22 on the Boeing 737-800.

Recently, the airline unveiled its largest-ever holiday schedule, which has since been extended with many routes now available to enjoy until April 2024 and 46 destinations served, including a brand-new route to Curacao as well as returning service to Cartagena, Colombia. Additionally, Delta and the LATAM group are continuing to add joint venture routes as the partners work to grow their extensive combined network between North and South America.

On most of these added flights, customers can look forward to fast, free Wi-Fi available. All customers can enjoy a wide selection of in-flight entertainment options, with complimentary access to Delta Studio, featuring over 1,000 hours of on-demand content. Additionally, customers can treat themselves to a variety of unique beverages and snacks (for purchase in Main Cabin) like Thrive Farmers Tea or Tip Top’s old fashioneds or espresso martinis and savor the tasty White Chocolate Macadamia bars from Kate’s Real Food.

Customers can also take advantage of personalized services and offers available only to SkyMiles Members through Delta Sync exclusives, a first-of-its-kind platform aimed to elevate the customer experience onboard.
