Air connectivity is strengthened in Ecuador

American Airlines, United Airlines, Aeromexico, KLM, Copa Airlines, Lufthansa and JetBlue Airways are the airlines that have placed their trust in Ecuador in recent months. They reaffirmed their determination to improve air connectivity to Ecuador. This will be done with the opening of new routes, greater capacity and more frequencies.

KLM, European airline, projects to arrive to Ecuador with one of the most modern aircraft operating in the world. This is the 787-9 Boeing, also known as DreamLiner. It has a capacity of between 217 and 323 passengers. At present, the airline arrives in the country with a daily flight operated by a 777-200 Boeing, with a capacity for 318 passengers, on the Amsterdam-Quito-Guayaquil route. With this decision, Ecuador would be the first South American country to receive an aircraft of this nature. Thus, trust is ratified in Destination Ecuador.

On the other hand, American Airlines announced its interest in flying from Dallas, in the United States, to Quito. For this purpose, the airline is processing its application to the Ecuadorian Civil Aviation Authority to start its air operation in December. The Dallas-Quito route would have five weekly flights.

This would be the first direct American Airlines flight that would connect Quito and the country from the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. With the new Quito-Dallas-Quito route, American Airlines would increase its connectivity between Ecuador and Dallas and 148 cities in the United States. Also, with major destinations in Asia: Tokyo, Shanghai, Seoul and Hong Kong; and Europe: Frankfurt, London and Paris, with one intermediate stop.

United Airlines, under the new mode of operation established by the Ecuadorian Civil Aviation Authority will make seasonal flights from July to September. This is due to the high demand of tourists looking to travel to Ecuador during this season. The company operates two additional weekly flights covering the Houston-Quito-Houston route…
